This took longer than planned. The first motherboard I tried just would not work - it would power on the fans but wouldn't even light the chassis power LED. Tried all sorts of CMOS clear tricks, different hardware, you name it. Very odd. I swapped it out for the other MSI Z87-G45 I received and everything was fine!
